Strong 4th Quarter is brings brighter hopes for 2010

San Francisco, CA – As predicted in our “3rd Quarter Wrap-Up” article, the work force has rebounded for the start of 2010. Although unemployment is still at an uneasy level, the dust is definitely settling and corporations are looking to hire once again. But, before we go full force into 2010, let’s take a look at how Cypress HCM not only survived 2009, but was able to accomplish something that very few organizations could; Cypress closed the books with its fifth straight year of profitability.

At Cypress HCM, we embraced the coming recession, held on tight and took a proactive approach by really focusing on the internal aspects the company. As everyone is well aware, recruitment for the I.T. industry was, well… lackluster. As a result, Cypress decided to capitalize on the industries downtime and really hone in and strengthen our organization. Cypress HCM spent much of 2009 preparing for the end of the recession, strategically working to be ahead of our competitors when the economy made its rebound. The plan was to execute our key initiative: put our back office under the microscope and come up with a solution that increased efficiency in the most cost effective way possible; and by partnering with COMPAS Technology, Cypress was able to accomplish just that. With their web based automated Time & Attendance System and Back Office Suite, in conjunction with its Front-End Suite (Applicant Tracking and Customer Relationship System), COMPAS radically reduced the time associated with our back office activities; such as pay rolling, financials, commissions, and invoicing. Bottom line, COMPAS allowed our organization run on all cylinders with a lean staff.

Each employee took on additional responsibilities and kept buoyant attitudes, ensuring that Cypress was well prepared to hit the ground sprinting at the start of 2010. All our efforts paid-off and we’re looking forward to a great year!

The temporary-staffing industry has added more jobs during the fourth quarter than in any three-month period that we can find going back to the early 1990s.
